Lockdown: Get rid of mental problems


The whole world economy has come to a standstill due to the coronavirus infection. Depression has been lingering in people's minds for a long time. Many kinds of unforeseen events are also happening in it.

Experts say prolonged isolation can have a detrimental effect on a person's mental health. According to health experts, many may be keeping themselves under house arrest in the face of the epidemic, avoiding social contact. However, for those who are involved in regular work, or travel frequently, the lockdown is a very difficult time. Children and adults, in particular, are at increased risk of becoming mentally ill while living in one place.

Experts have given some tips to keep mental health good during this time. E.g.

1. Keep yourself active throughout the day.

2. Listen to music, read books, draw pictures to get rid of negative thoughts. If possible, plant flowering plants in the house. Try watching something entertaining.


3. Drink plenty of water. Eat a balanced diet.

4. Older people can suffer from fear of death. Spend a little more time with them.

5. Keep children busy so that they do not suffer from depression and loneliness.


6. If you feel anxious, sit quietly for a few minutes, and practice deep breathing in and out.


7. Keep yourself away from unnecessary thoughts.

8. If you feel angry and annoyed, calm your mind by counting the numbers from the back, i.e. from 10 to 1.

9. Spend time with your family in solitude. Communicate with friends by phone as well.


At this time many people are suffering from viral fever including cold and cough. Experts are advising people who are at risk of the corona to stay in isolation from the beginning. This is also causing many mental problems. Experts have given some tips to keep them mentally healthy. E.g.

1. Do not panic unnecessarily without reason.

2. Stay away from sensational news or social media posts.

3. Who got sick? Stop knowing how many people got sick and how.

4. Follow the hygiene rules given by the World Health Organization.

5. Refrain from taking tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. These can make mental health worse.

6. Don't panic if you are infected with the coronavirus. Keep up the good work. Remember that most people are recovering from this disease.

7. Do some physical yoga exercises and meditation in the morning and evening.


8. Take the medicine as advised by the doctor. Eat nutritious food, fruits as well. Drink enough water.
